The pastor or deacon prepare parents for baptism of their child(ren) by meeting with them to explain the Church's teaching on the Rite of Baptism for Children. This meeting includes a review of the symbols and signs used in the Rite, as well as an emphasis on the parents' long term responsibilities regarding the baptism of their child and support available from Immaculate Conception.
